We mentor, guide and provide funds to start-ups or entrepreneurial projects in the social sector. We not only help start a new social venture (even for a preliminary idea), we also help scale up an existing social venture.
Any individual, or a group of individuals, with at least one member having a bachelor’s degree and an innovative idea to address a social issue. There is no age bar. However, any financial support is only extended to a for-profit registered company. For more details on support available for community enterprises, get in touch with us.
We can provide a seed funding of a maximum of Rs 10 lakhs, provided that your venture is approved by our screening committee. The seed funding and other support from the Centre is provided against an equity share of 5% in your venture.
We also provide funds for undertaking pilots and proof of concept/ prototypes, depending on a proposed idea. Get in touch with us for more details.
Every social venture has different requirements. It can vary from 3 months to 18 months. Fill up the form that suits your venture best and we will get back to you on how best to work this out.
While regular business attempts to scale up wealth and profit, a social venture seeks to address a pressing issue and provide innovative solutions, using an entrepreneurial approach. ACIIE helps in making these social projects effective and self-sustaining
7. Does ACIIE charge any fees for its induction programs or is its financial interest limited to equity participation?
ACIIE does not charge any fees for its induction programs if the participant is either a student, an alumnus or a faculty member of Ambedkar University (AUD) or those who are selected after taking part in the business plan competition of ACIIE. However, the Centre charges a nominal fee from other institutions for offering the induction program to their students, on an institutional basis. Besides this, the Centre’s financial interest is limited to equity participation.
Consulting assignments undertaken by ACIIE are generally project-based. The Centre provides specialized services and advice to organizations related to design thinking and sustainability. Such specialised services are usually required by organisations in the development sector, who want to move from a not-for-profit model to a for-profit one.
The Centre charges organisations on a turn-key basis by helping them conceptualize CSR interventions and facilitate their implementation.
